The Enlightenment thought that the combination of political freedom and access to information would allow us to root out “ musty old ideas” through “rational investigation.” In other words, it would lead to a less biased, superstitious and more truthful world. According to the video and other current conspiracy theories this doesn’t seem to be the case in the USA, despite our being a very free country and having unlimited access to information through the internet. Discuss and analyze why you believe freedom and access to information has not led us to become more “Enlightened” as a Nation.​

I believe that the freedom and access to information has not led us to become a more enlightened nation because even though people have access to this information, the government can still hide a lot of information that we wouldn't be able to access. So with that factor we still wouldn't be able to have all the information that is needed for us to have a proper discussion without missing a piece of information that the government has hidden.
